Turbulence

It's funny how one little comment can turn against you so quickly. We're not allowed to have opinions anymore. We're not allowed to have lives outside of our workplace. You're supposed to tow the company line 24/7 now. Ridiculous. What happened to freedom of speech? What happened to our personal life? Big Brother is indeed watching. But it's not the government, it's your employer. They can now hold our livelihoods over us for anything we do or say at any time. I think it's bullshit. And for the record, this was not spawned by anything that has happened to me but it's happening nonetheless...

Our most recent employee manual has a section in it about the company's "Social Media Policy". It states that, if there is anything that can link an employee to the company on his/her persoanl page (listed as employed there, for example), that he/she may not in any way shed negative light on the Company. And, if we say anything about the company, we are supposed to add a disclaimer, stating that the opinion is solely ours and in no way reflects the opinions of the Company as a whole. And, recently, they printed a bunch of posts against someone who was fired.
